Howe Street is where Rockport first developed the idea of a walking shoe. You might say the rest is history, but we prefer to keep moving ahead… Our innovative Howe Street lace-up shoes start with a classic design and bump it up to the next level with visible air technology in the sole, to cushion your heel every time your foot hits the ground. You'll find technology you can feel on the inside of these sneakers too: Dri-Freeze cooling fabric on the inside means a warm day is no sweat, and the Ortholite footbed with memory foam molds to your foot for a personalized fit.

  • Leather upper combines with mesh stretch knit panels for natural comfort
  • TPU air bubble at the heel creates a cushioned strike when your foot makes contact with the ground
  • Dri-Freeze cooling fabric offers a breathable feel with moisture-wicking features
  • Removable molded Ortholite® footbed provides lightweight breathability and durability with a lasting cushion
  • San Crispino construction lends forefoot flexibility and a wide base of support
  • Padded collar provides cushioning and reduces possibility for irritation
  • EVA midsole supplies flexible, lightweight impact absorption
  • Rubber outsole with patterned grip provides long-wearing durability

    Review Snapshot

Howe Street Lace Up is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 65.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Shoe-Not a Good Fot The shoe looks great and seems to be made well like other Rockport’s I’ve had. I bought this pair on-line and that was my mistake. I typically never buy shoes without trying both on. I took a chance and now I wish I would have gone to a shoe store. I bought a wide in my size but this pair was still a little narrow for me. I would suggest getting something beyond wide or find a shoe store. Full disclosure: they were on sale so I thought it would be worth a try.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Purchased at significant discount; still a mistake Until becoming CoViD unemployed, I have worn dressier Rockport shoes for several years with great satisfaction to work as a sales trainer (on my feet a lot) and around the community. On a 2019 tour in Israel, my main luggage was delayed four days, and I was walking miles daily in the Rockport slip-ons I wore on the plane - and they served remarkably. I've lost more than 40 pounds over the past year, and since March 2020, walking has been my main exercise. When I saw these shoes on sale, I decided to try them. I accepted the light gray color, because it was the one choice remaining in the sale shoe in my size, 10.5 wide. When they arrived, I took the shoes on a test hike, about 9 miles the first day. They are a bit heavier than the walkers I normally prefer, and substantially stiffer, but...okay. The shoes rubbed a bit on my Achilles and the top of my feet. The lacing doesn't allow as much adjustment for girth as I would like. And though my route is almost entirely sidewalk and pavement, the shoes began to show discolorations the first time out. The color is not very practical. And the second time 'out', the Howe Street Lace Ups were too tight on my larger (left) foot, and I had to double back and change shoes. I'm disappointed, but will try to break these in and hope that these 'walkers' eventually may serve as well as the simple slip-ons I've enjoyed and depended on for years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too long Excellent shoe. My only issue is a wear New Balance and Allen Edmond size 11 4E. These shoed were 2 inched too long. Would have returned for 10 1/2 4E but they were out of stock. Great looking shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes I’ve only bought shoes online one other time and I had to return them. Took a chance again with these and they are everything I thought they would be.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I bought for my dad for Christmas they were too small. I returned them back but it took Rockport 3 weeks for me to get my credit back to my card. Absolutely ridiculous. In between that time I got another pair of Rockports from Macy and he loves them. Never ordering from Rockport site again.
