These are very nice boots for a waterproof option. (They are NOT leather. But it's "ok". I'm quite picky when it comes to leather, and they pass.) The pros first: the style is nice. I am 5'2", and these boots are just the right height for my calf without cutting into me. The color is a nice chocolate brown. The traction is nice in slippery weather when you still want a nice boot with your skinny jeans or skirts. The operative word there is SKINNY jeans. The cons: These boots are quite tight in the calf, but they DO have a piece of stretch fabric that runs the entire length of the back of the boot. I didn't expect that at all, and it didn't show up to me in the photos. It helps, but these are really, really tight. (I am 5'2", 118 lbs). My calves are 13", so that might give you an idea of how tight they are. The good news is the stretch fabric, but like I said, they are still quite tight. There is also a small metal plaque that says "waterproof". Is this necessary? I really wish it was not there. All in all, they are "good", not great.

I purchased these boots for a trip to Europe and they are amazing. I originally bought them in black but they were so comfortable that I got them in brown too. I normally wear a 6.5 and they only had a 7 so I tried it and by ordering a little bigger, I was able to wear my wool socks with them.

I have spent 5 months looking for the right black boot, and have finally found it. These fit my narrow calves well. They are great for work because they look professional and classy without looking too sexy, thanks to the low heel. They are sturdy and waterproof and thus very practical. Perfect! Plus wonderful customer service from Rockport.
